Madjaks was born from a passion for preserving the stories embedded in reclaimed wood. Each piece of timber we work with has lived a previous life – as a barn beam, a factory floor, or perhaps a century-old oak that fell naturally.

Our founder, Sam Sterling, spent years studying traditional joinery techniques across Europe before establishing our workshop in 2012. His vision was simple: create furniture that honors the wood's history while crafting new heirlooms for future generations.

Every piece we create is handcrafted using traditional methods and tools, combined with modern design sensibilities. We believe in letting the natural character of the wood guide our designs, embracing knots, grain patterns, and natural edges as features to be celebrated.

And of course, no workshop is complete without Jess, our loyal terrier who has supervised every project since we opened. She has a keen eye for quality and ensures that each piece meets her exacting standards before it leaves our workshop.
